Outdoor Thrillseekers
Welcome to Outdoor Thrillseekers! This group is for people who want to experience all of the exciting outdoor activities Utah has to offer. It's also a fantastic way to meet fun and interesting new people who share the same interests. This group will focus on pretty much every outdoor activity you can think of. Hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, canyoneering, river tubing, camping, backpacking, sledding, wakeboarding, marathons, 5k races, bungee jumping, skydiving, longboarding, etc. This group is free and I don't require any membership dues. I want everyone to experience all the amazing outdoor activities in Utah without worrying about any financial obligations. However, it does cost me money to run this Meetup group, so donations are very much appreciated! Thank you. I look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Sheryl's Outdoor Adventure Group
Join us in over 350 Outdoor Adventures every year! By coming often, you are guaranteed to meet amazing people who all love being active outdoors. We know many people are new to outdoor sports in Utah. We'll work hard to help you have a great time, the first time out so you'll keep coming back. For those who are active, experienced, outdoor enthusiasts, we are eager to get to know! There really is something for everyone in our group. Since I've been doing this for 9 years now (much longer than I've known about Meetup), I have a strong following who attend our activities, more than what appears on Meetup. Learn more about me and what I have to offer AND sign up for my free newsletters at my site: liveandthrive.com. I was born and raised in Utah, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, but got real serious about outdoor adventures in my 40's. As a Musical Theater major from BYU, I've done plenty of singing, dancing and performing throughout my life, but I feel the most alive now when I am skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, trampoline jumping, bike riding, kayaking or paddle surfing. If you have a spirit of adventure, desire to meet more outdoor enthusiasts, want to be active, eager to try new sports and explore new places, near and far, and best of all spend very little money, you'll be extremely happy with our group!

Utah Fathers' Rights Meetup Group
An online parental rights group for connecting family rights advocates and organizations in Utah together - with each other, with more information, and with other resources. Our group has a particular focus on defending the family in the war being waged against it by the unholy alliance of the divorce industry and rising misandrism. The resulting onslaught on the family is so often no more immediately recognized than by divorcing fathers. Hope for improvement is available through activism. If you're not already a member, see our "Join Us!" sign up section below and enter a login name, your email address, and a password to join today. Joining demonstrates your concern and gives you access to lots more information including information on relevant events and what more you can do to make a difference for our future. No fit parent should have to be a visitor or less to their own children! "It does not take a majority to prevail...but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams 1776 To learn more, follow our "About Us" link (on the left side of this page) to the "About this Meetup Group" page.

Happiness 101
This group is about supporting HAPPINESS! It is surprising how, when asked, many people don't know what real happiness is. Do you? Do you know what will truly bring you happiness? Scientific studies have shown that most people are poor at estimating what will make them happy. For instance, when you think about the things that you "enjoy" doing, does it truly bring you happiness - or comfort - or worse, are you just killing time? Think about what you describe as "fun" - is it REALLY fun? These classes will teach you not only the true meaning of happiness and fun but help you get there - not just for the short term (called a happiness boost) but set up a personalized plan for long-term happiness. Hey, it's FREE. What do you have to lose? People of all levels of happiness (depression included) are welcome.

While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Out 2 Live
Our focus is to tap into the healing power of nature to restore joy and happiness to life. Whether it's due to the loss of a loved one, divorce, job loss, anxiety or other life challenges, the drama and trauma of life can leave us feeling stuck. It can be difficult to motivate ourselves to get outside and let the endorphins created through movement heal our mind and body. My experience with outdoor groups has shown me that people who exercise in nature--whether it's the mountains, the desert, or even a walk in the park--experience significant relief from depression, feel less anxious and stressed, and generally feel a renewed sense of happiness, than those who exercise indoors. Add to that the wonderful endorphins that hiking creates, and it's possible to go from hopeless to joyful in a very short time. Out 2 Live activities range from beginner walks and hikes, to more advanced activities that include slot canyons, backpacking, camping and mountain biking. Some of the activities will include meditation, mountaintop yoga, or simply sharing encouragement and experiences around a campfire. And along the way, lifelong friendships will be made.

The Salt Lake County 912 Project
America is in trouble. Aren't we all past the point where we can continue to rationalize doing nothing? If you understand the proper role of government and the principles of Agency and Liberty, you are not alone. Even though we are few in number, we are making a difference and we are growing. The solution to America's sickness starts with us, not compromised politicians in Washington. We are driving change from the bottom up, in a civil manner, within the existing system. In May of 2010, Utah Rising successfully completed our first joint project: we replaced a Republican US Senator who would not follow our party platform with one who will. At the same time we got every one of our candidates nominated by the Republican Party to run in the general election. Now, our short term efforts will be to get our candidates elected in November 2010. Beyond that, we will recruit and train citizens (and candidates) who are aggressively committed to the concepts of limited government, fiscal responsibility and legislation based on the original intent of the Constitution. We must drive leaders up through the system who will passionately fight to take back our schools, our land and our Constitutional right to local governance. We can't do much as individuals, but a working alliance of citizens and legislators can move mountains. We already have and we will move some more. Please join us, stop watching and start acting in solidarity.

The Utah County Freemasons MeetUp
Welcome to the Utah County Freemasons Meetup Group, which is offered by Story Lodge #4 (Freemason Lodge) in Provo, Utah (875 W. 1850 N., Provo). (http://www.storylodge4.org/) This group offers everyone, whether a Mason or not, the ability to sit down with local Freemasons, enjoy some food and entertainment, and find out what Masonry is all about. The purpose of this group is to discuss all things Masonic, to dispel the commonly held belief that to join Freemasonry a person must be asked or "tapped" to join, and to enlighten all that joining Freemasonry requires a man requesting, by his own free will and accord, to join the oldest Fraternity in the World. If you have ever been interested in Freemasonry, join our group and let us share Masonry with you.

Vicarious Gourmet Utah County Cooking Classes
Calling all foodies in U.C. - Vicarious Gourmet is a place where we can get together and enjoy what we love most: tongue-meltingly delicious food. But there's an even larger purpose than that. Through interactions with other foodies and food experts from all over the county, we can increase our own "gourmet I.Q." Your palate will grow as you try new foods and seasoning combinations, and your recipe book will always have a backlog of new ideas to try. Together with our own exclusive Vicarious Gourmet events, we also post details for other cooking classes and foodie events that are going on in the area. We want you to have as many varied opportunities for foodie fun as possible! Just check the meeting details to see the RSVP requirements for each event - some are free, some charge a fee, but all are educational. And if you know of a local cooking class that's not listed on the site yet, just email the organizers to let us know. Enough talk - let's cook!

Literature (and maybe wine and food too)
I have wanted to be in a book club for a long time, but cringe when my friends tell me their clubs are reading "Diaries of a Shoppaholic" and the like. I love to read, but feel like I have a more and more difficult time finding books that I really love. I would like to start a group that could meet monthly and, in addition to the typical pick a book, read and discuss, talk in general about books we love and why. Perhaps every other meeting we could pick a book to read that either one member loves and believes that no one's life could be complete without having read it - or even a book a member is dying to discuss with others. I think it would be nice to do a mix of "classics" (not in the Greek sense) and modern lit. Books I love run the spectrum from War and Peace to Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. Books I would put outside my spectrum include Moby Dick (God bless you if you could get through the whole thing) and pretty much anything with a pink or baby blue cover (e.g. "chick lit"). I think it goes without saying that not every book club is a fit for every book lover. We all love different kinds of books. I would like to start a club for people who like to read fiction not just for entertainment, but to see the world in a new way, whether that is just a different time, different place, different set of attitudes and insights, etc.. If we become close friends, that would be a huge bonus. If this looks like the group for you, I hope you will give it a try! I would like a group that not only selects books to read and discuss, but also occassionally discusses books more generally. Here are some kinds of example discussion I would envision: -Has any book of fiction changed the way you see yourself? How? -Ten books of fiction you would take with you to prison (not for barter or shiv making instructions mind you) -Is there one book that you truely love and want to share with others? Mine is the Agony and the Ecstacy, by the way. -If we get to know each other well enough to meet in each others' homes and share wine and food as well as our thoughts, all the better! Here are the kinds of books (though not necessarily these books since I have read them) I have in mind. If you have never read any of these, read a few and if you like them, join. If you hate these, start a book club using books you love to find like minded readers! The Agony and The Ecstasy Crime and Punishment Anna Karinina Of Human Bondage Catch 22 Razor's Edge Bird Song The Good Earth Unbearable Lightness of Being Water for Elephants Just about anything by E.L. Salt Lake Flag Football Group
This group is about getting amateur flag football fans together to enjoy a friendly game and get some fresh air and have some fun! We're open to everyone who enjoys the sport. The only requirement is that that you abide by the meaning of "friendly" as defined below. "Friendly" means sometimes you might end up on the losing team, and you have to be OK with that. This isn't the NFL. This group is not for hyper-competitive players who want to win at any cost. Being on the losing team doesn't necessarily make anyone a bad athlete. We play weekly at 9:00 AM on Sundays for about 2.5 hours. We'll keep playing into the winter as long as players keep showing up. Bring water. Guests are welcome. Each game will begin with introductions, game rules and code of conduct. To minimize injury risk (especially high-speed collisions), we don't return kickoffs or punts. When picking teams, we try to even up the talent so that the game is competitive. Note about RSVP's: Many players don't RSVP, so don't let the low RSVP count prevent you from coming. Voluntary donations of $1.00 per game go toward maintaining this site and replacing flags. For more info, call 1732-678-6821 or 801- 599-4717.

We are a group of ~200 adults that love to play soccer! We range in age from 18-60 years old, both men and women, ALL ability levels! Some players played in college, others played HS, and others that haven't even kicked a ball prior to playing with us! Some of us are coaches of kids teams that refuse to let them have all the fun! Sportsmanship is expected; we are competitive but friendly! The guy against you this week will often be your teammate next week. Slide tackles are a no-no, and so is anything else that puts players at risk of collision or injury. Newcomers are welcome. Our membership costs $90 for the first year, which includes 2 shirts, and 2 pairs of matching socks (good ones too, not cheapies like the kids get :-) ). You can register at https://www.sportslogictech.net/Reg/naasa%20ut-5030 We often have mid-week pickup games, but the majority of our play is on Saturday afternoons from mid-March til' late May, when we switch to Saturday MORNINGS to avoid the Brutal Utah Sun. In Late August we resume afternoon games which run until early November. If Winter is late we keep playing outdoors. We often play outdoors until Early December! When outside is finished we just move INSIDE! During winter if we get a thaw we play outside (in 2009 we played 3 weeks in February!)

SLC Tennis Club
We are all here to play tennis and have a great time. We welcome everyone who wants to play. Skill levels are all over the place. If you are a true beginner than we would suggest you to take lessons. Some of the players here are very helpful for beginners but for the most part its recommended that you have a skill level of at least 2.0. On average the skill level in the group seems to be about 3.0-3.5. That doesnt mean you won't find 4.0+ on here for a higher level of game. If your looking for lessons email the organizers in the group and we will help you find instructors. We have great contacts for instructors and they will give you a great deal on some group/private lessons for being part of the Tennis Club Meetup.

Healthy Eating and Community Garden Group
Ever since our family of six went through our first of three lay offs several years ago, I've had a passion to learn how to live a very abundant life without spending much money. I have been teaching classes for the past 8 years on this subject and am eager to share what I have learned with millions of people who are all struggling in our stressed economy. My signature class "Feed a Family of Four on $160/month" has been a big hit over the years. During the past year, I developed a more specific system, entitled the "6-3-4 Meal Plan" which means 6 minute prep time per meal, costing less than $3/meal, enough to feed a family of 4. I will start posting my seminars and workshops on this meetup so you can come and see for yourself what I do. Besides teaching students how to eat more whole grains and legumes, I love organizing and promoting my community garden! We have over 3 acres of rich, fertile soil to grow our food and a large 1200 sq. foot greenhouse. Last year we fed over 170 families from our gardens. Our garden members are required to come and work in the gardens if they want this delicious food. They also pay an annual fee of $50/household. It's impressive how much food our members receive every year! I hope you'll join us and see for yourself how you can live and actually thrive, rather than just hanging on, surviving with white knuckles in a difficult economy. Check out my website liveandthrive.com for more details and how to join. You'll see other groups I offer with the same "Provident, Active, Healthy Living" theme. I love teaching people how to grow their own food so they experience for themselves what it's like to shop less at the grocery store, while picking and eating plenty of delicious, home grown food! Bottom line: If you love local, fresh, delicious, produce ALL year long, and want to teach your family how to grow and work in the gardens, this group is for you! If you want a "hands on" garden experience, you've come to the right place! Whether you want to just buy produce from us or work in the gardens, we can accommodate you! Join now!

Salt Lake City Ex-Mormon Meetup
There are many burned-out by the Mormon Church, and have discovered many of its problems. This group exists to help individuals who are transitioning out of Mormonism. The group also exists for those who are not Mormon, but are interested in learning more about the faith. Given that the hosts are traditional Christians, we invite all those who are at least open to the truth claims of traditional Christianity to attend. Though tolerant of other ideas, we unapologetically hold Christ to be the Ultimate and that our lives are at unrest until they find their rest in Him, and not in anything else... including church organizations. We recognize various church organizations are helpful to that end, but deny the LDS Church to be among those. It is a counterfeit of Christianity. Our worthiness is in Christ alone. The Salt Lake City Ex-Mormon Meetup is a ministry outreach of Courageous Christians United.

Elite Single Baby-Boomers 50 and Over
Elite Single Baby-Boomers 50 and Over Seeking Babyboomers who are interested in: Meeting singles, attending art/cultural or sporting events, travel, outdoor recreational activities, networking and . . . . much much more. Babyboomers are one of the largest groups in the country but good luck trying to find a classy place to dance, or just a nice cozy piano bar. Many of us would like to travel to New York, Europe or just a weekend trip to Vegas or Wendover and are seeking fun, interesting and compatible travelling companions. What about that last minute three day cruise! A weekend in Delmar, CA to the horse races? Others may want to meet individuals to attend sporting, cultural events or outdoor recreational activities. After working responsibly for years some babyboomers are now seeking full or part time jobs in this dismal economy and want a social and networking group to connect with. Single professional men and women 50 and over or 50 and over single couples to meet monthly with members who are comfortable volunteering their home for a gathering. Guests would bring their own bottle, main dish or hor d'oeuvre to every home event. However, this is not just a monthly event. Meetups during the month could include everything from dancing, wine tasting, golf, hiking, concerts, etc. Come on, quit complaining that there's nothing going on in our age group. Don't let the world pass you by. We can create our own experience by putting our heads together for some unique fun gatherings and check off some of those items on our bucket list. Let's put on some of the ol music, do some dancing and meet some great professional people! Who knows . . . . You may find that special someone! Out of consideration for your host/hostess you will need to RSVP on events you plan on attending and change your RSVP if your plans change. If the feedback to an event is overwhelming there may be a need to limit the number of individuals attending and it will be necessary to have an accurate count.

Salt Lake Classics Book Club
Do you regret not paying attention during your literature classes in high school? Would you like to read the "classics" and discuss them with others? If so, you've found the right club. We will be reading a wide range of modern, ancient, medieval and contemporary classic books from around the globe! Anything over 600 pages.... we'll probably split into two meetings. **Ideally** you should have the novels read before you attend a meetup, but you don't have to or even have started them! But Come ready to talk about them, give your ideas, ask questions, philosophies and opinions and have plain old literary fun!. If you'd like to understand the novels better, we suggest doing some cultural/historical research with each novel to really understand the writings of the different authors.

Money Creators
Welcome to the Money Creator's Meetup - we are a group of empowered individuals that consider the "Law of ACTION" the cause and the "Law of Attraction" the effect of taking bold action. We are focused on creating predictable and sustainable wealth and true self reliance. "Money follows boldness!" ~Colleen Laukka We formed the Money Creator's Meetup as a platform to bring in truly transformational presentors that deliver powerful Mind Shifts and distinctions that have the power to transform who you are "Being" with money, your career or business. We go beyond tips, tricks and "how to's" that adjust what you are "doing." It's like Steve Chandler says "working only at the level of "doing" is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic." If you are ready to turn up the courage and take bold action to create a life you love... Join us!

Network Marketing Mastermind Group (NMMG)
Most Network Marketing Professionals are familiar with Napoleon Hill's classic work "Think and Grow Rich". In Chapter 10, "Power of the Master Mind", Mr. Hill describes a Master Mind as "The Driving Force" towards riches and specifically defines it as: "Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose." This group has been created for the Definite Purpose of: "Helping Network Marketing Professionals to achieve their goals through the sharing of knowledge, systems, strategies and personal success stories." This group is non-denominational and welcomes distributors from any legitimate established Network Marketing Company to participate in its meetings. Members are expected to interact in a professional manner by refraining from promoting their opportunity or engaging in any sales activities within this Meetup group. Meetings will be focused on the topics of most interest to the members. Each member will have the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and to contribute to the content covered in the meetings. We will frequently host Special Guest Speakers that have well-established networking businesses and earn at least 5-figures per month. Come and enjoy this unique networking opportunity!

Mountain Monks
The noble eight fold path describes the way to the end of suffering, as it was laid out by Buddha. It is a practical guideline to ethical and mental development with the goal of freeing the individual from attachments and delusions; and it finally leads to understanding the truth about all things. Together with the Four Noble Truths it constitutes the gist of Buddhism. Right View Right Intention Right Speech Right Action Right Livelihood Right Effort Right Mindfulness Right Concentration Loving Kindness ~ Meditation ~ Service ~ Inner Peace ~ Joy ~ Compassion "The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both natural and spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual and a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism." ~Albert Einstein (To learn more about buddhism look in the files on the left and click on buddhism)

We started this group for anyone that is just getting started in real estate and wants to start right. If you have never closed a deal or have closed less than 5 deals - this is the right place for you. If you have a full time job and only have a few minutes each week to work on real estate you can do this. We will be talking about getting started in real estate, the best ways to find deals here in Utah, how to know it's a deal and how to make almost any house turn into a deal. How to find money and partners to get the deal done. How to find buyers for wholesale deals. We will network you with the right lenders (Regular, Private & Hard) , title companies, etc. We are a group of investors that have closed hundreds of deals in Utah and 90% in the Salt Lake area. SLC Rifters
If you'd like to test your role playing mettle in the most imaginative and expansive RPG experience this side of the Megaverse then this group is for you. Q: What is Rifts? A: Rifts is a pen and paper RPG that crosses and combines every genre – science fiction, fantasy, horror, the supernatural, super-heroes, dimensional travel, magic, monsters, and more – in a wild, post-apocalyptic setting limited only by the imagination of the players. Our Goal: To help current and old Rifts players find people to game with again; bring new players into the gaming genre who would enjoy the people and role playing. Flesh out a character and enjoy the ride with a group of mature (must be over 21), casual gamers about every other Saturday evening. This Meetup.com site is used primarily as a general update for current players and a portal for new players to find us. Please brows the "About" section and check our gaming schedule here. E-mail us if you'd like to learn more about the Rifts RPG or our gaming group(s) or are a Rift veteran looking for a group to game with again. Feel free to participate on the "Message Board" as well - links on your left. E-mail Rifter6@rifters.org. "Having played a wide number of RPG games, including D&D, Warhammer, Cyberpunk, and Shadowrun to name a few, no RPG brings to the game the same depth in both character development and plot like Rifts does. Never have I played a game that sends the imagination soaring the way Palladium's Rifts does!"

Live and Thrive Barter and Trade Group
Barter and Trade Class description This group helps members acquire things they need/want by using their talents, skills, resources, abilities, knowledge and experience without using much money. Members are encouraged to develop a "Wish List" of goods and/or services. A second list will include what they have to offer in exchange. In hard economic times, learning how to barter and trade with a large network of people is invaluable. Regular meetings are held at a variety of locations throughout the Salt Lake Valley to help members develop their 2 lists AND to share their lists with others in the group. Check out my website liveandthrive.com for more groups that I offer with this same "Provident, Active, Healthy Living" theme.

THE NUYU!
I am so excited to have started this group. We will meet twice a month or more to exercise, learn from trainers and health experts and learn some yummy low calorie recipes. I would love it if you could bring a friend or two that are in your circle of influence. It is great to have a buddy that you exercise with so bring him or her, if you don't have anyone you could buddy up with someone from the group that lives close to you. This group is to encourage you and help you. We appreciate donations but they are not required, this is to cover the cost of food and the venue. Come and have fun and share your experiences with others. We all have something unique to contribute. Let's get America moving together!

Utah Business Advocates
There are many resources available to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners but many go unrecognized or underutilized while others increase costs without measureable benefit to the business. Our group addresses issues facing small businesses in Utah in the context of Venture Strategic Planning. Focus is on action, based upon sound strategic planning. Our programs are built to provide education (knowledge and understanding) plus methods and tools to implement and execute programs and processes for REAL business development and improvement. We will not hold meetings for the sake of filling a calendar and may seek venues around the area that will best suit the specific meeting. Some meetings may address needs of a specific segment of our members. Some meetings, for example, might focus on specific revenue generation actions for existing businesses while others might target processes for new ventures or emerging businesses. Many programs wil be fee-based in order to cover basic costs but we will endeavor to keep them reasonable! Sponsorship will be sought where it is appropriate to do so but while we will have "partnership" programs we will not broker sponsorships for the sake of contributions. All "partners" will be qualified for participation and held to the highest standards. Inputs and suggested topics or presenters are always welcome from our members!

Short Story Fiction Writers Group
"In 1816 Mary and Percy Bysshe Shelley visited Lord Byron at his villa in Switzerland. Among other subjects, the conversation turned to the feasibility of returning a corpse or assembled body parts to life. Sitting around a log fire at Byron's villa, the company also amused themselves by reading German ghost stories, prompting Byron to suggest they each write their own supernatural tale. Mary Shelley conceived the idea for Frankenstein and Lord Byron managed to write a short fragment based on vampire legends he heard while traveling the Balkans. From this fragment, John Polidori created The Vampyre, the progenitor of the romantic vampire genre. Thus, two legendary horror tales originated from this one circumstance." (Excerpted from Wickepedia). The focus of this Meetup writers' group is not necessarily to create the Great American Novel, rather, to foster an environment of creativity and collaborative learning through mastering the fundamentals of short story writing. Each month we tackle a new genre or writing technique, share our research on the subject and put our learning to practical application in the form of an original short story, which is then lovingly critiqued by our peers. The objective is to hone individual skills while moving forward as a group. Three simple rules apply: 1. No previous writing experience is necessary, but this is a serious writers' group – you must do the research and submit your creative writing samples for constructive criticism, 2. Getting your work published is (should be?) the ultimate personal goal, but is not the objective with this group – our purpose is to learn and share in a mutually supportive and intellectually engaging environment, and 3. You must have fun. So, if you think you love fiction writing and are not offended by the premise of this group, we invite you to come join us. It should be a creative blast.

I have gotten my life in order, found a extremely healthy pass time, and never had so many friends in my life. Or maybe people want to come to dance or learn to dance. Or someone who needs an outlet for frustrations or something to do. Whatever reason someone might come, they are definately going to have fun!

Family Campers
Our family of 3 has been camping for the past several years and have had some choice memories. There are hundreds of different places to camp and hike around Utah that most citizens never experience. We have hiked a lot of these and have some amazing places that we would love to share with you! With newer technology you can camp year round with your kids and have an enjoyable time. We usually do Central and Southern Utah in the late fall and winter months and Northern Utah in the spring and summer months. You don't have to have any experience with hiking or camping to join the group. We will provide directions, camping checklists, tips, and hikes we will go on and it is up to you to make the reservations for your campsite (if any) and to provide shelter, clothing, and food. We almost always are back on Sunday but you can stay longer if you want. There is a $12 a month fee to be an organizer of this group but I will not ask for any money. If you would like to give us a donation at one of the camp outs we would gladly accept this. We are not trying to make any money but wouldn't mind breaking even. Our main focus is to build lasting friendships with families of similar interests. DISCLAIMER: THE ORGANIZER AND/OR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE NOT IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTS, WEATHER INCIDENTS, ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS, AND/OR ACTS OF GOD ON THESE ACTIVITIES. LET’S TALK – HEALTH RESTORATION & REJUVINATION
GRASSROOTS HEALTH & WELLNESS QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS ______________________________________________________________________________________________ GROUP GOALS & AIMS HEALTHY BODIES & MINDS - FREE FROM ILLNESSES - CANCER, DIABETES, MS, IMMUNE DISEASES AND RELATED EMOTIONAL STRESS LET'S TALK HEALTH MEETUP GROUP MISSION STATEMENT Our LET'S TALK HEALTH group of dedicated professional volunteer presenters is dedicated to sharing information that will improve the lives of all American's – because without good health, all the "talk" isn't going to have much value. HEALTH IS BASIC TO HUMAN HAPPINESS. With the current healthcare status in the US, doctors and insurance companies don't always provide the "treatments, remedies, cures" we need in order to return our lives to healthy, harmonious and happy experiences. Many who suffer from diseases like cancer, even final stage diseases, don't realize there are actually decent alternatives to the mainstream options of chemo or, "it's too late, go home to die" scenarios. People with diabetes are often suffering unnecessarily while depending on their traditional health care providers for all the answers. Those suffering from MS and other autoimmune diseases (112) may be suffering lifelong battles that never had to be fought! THERE ARE OPTIONS AND ALTERNATIVES. NUTRITION AND OXYGEN AND SUPPLEMENTS AND ALL SORTS OF UNCONVENTIONAL CHOICES THAT FEW PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF. OUR GOAL IS TO PRESENT YOU WITH THIS INFORMATION SO YOU CAN HAVE MORE CHOICES TO CHOOSE FROM.

This group will form relationships that will impact our communities. We will support each other to succeed in promoting our conservative values, in providing a foundation of support for small businesses, in upholding the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and educating ourselves to possibilities. We will also encourage the youth, 17 and up to attend and join in discussion. I am wanting to make this a pro-active discussion group. Not just a come and listen to speeches. We will also be an "action" group. Meaning being involved with community, service, active discussion, learn skills, and expand on new ideas. I look forward to meeting with you, learning from you, and working with you!

Utah Valley Freemasons
We are working towards supporting and improving our communities and promoting the ancient landmarks and values of Freemasonry since receiving our charter on January 21, 1896. These values are just as important today as they were over a hundred years ago, perhaps even more-so considering the fast pace world that we live in as modern day man. The values and ancient traditions of Freemasonry provide men with a firm foundation for moral strength, honest friendship, and valuable direction for their responsibilities as fathers, brothers, sons, and friends.

A great way to keep our dogs (and ourselves) exercised and socialized with others who have the same interests. We will mainly hike our local trails here in Park City but will also schedule special hikes at other locations. We will schedule 4 hikes each month but encourage our members to add hikes, as well as suggest locations that would make for good hikes. Starting off slow we hope to gain enough members by summer to have a consistent group of hikers to explore the outdoors with us. That way we can plan picnics, day hikes and camping trips that will be another benefit of having a nice group of people to go with. Member benefits are: A good connection of hiking companions, Email Newsletter, a Club T-Shirt, and a Club Sticker. As well as discounts on Hiking Classes and Products with Active K9. Responsible dog owners and well behaved dogs are welcome. It is in the best interest of all concerned for all dogs attending to be spayed or neutered.

Park City-Salt Lake Freemason Meetup
This meetup hosts many Freemason Meetups in the Park City and Salt Lake City area for those who are interested in Freemasonry. This is a great resource to meet Freemasons and learn more about the fraternity at our many meetups held in Park City and Salt Lake to better familiarize oneself with what truly Freemasonry is about and how one may petition to become a member. Freemasonry is one of the oldest fraternities in the world and continually helps good men become better. It is a great system of non-dogmatic morals to improve oneself and show charity for mankind. This meetup will host regular temple tours at the downtown Salt Lake Masonic Temple, meetups in Park City at Ruby Tuesdays on the second Tuesday of each month, and meetups at the downtown Cafe on 1st on the third Tuesday of each month, as well as many other Masonic events open to the public. Will look forward to meeting you and our many events. If you have any questions please free to call me. Sincerely, Kasey Conder 801.755.4419

Utah Business Book Club
On the first Thursday of each month we meet for lunch, discuss the books we read during the previous month, and announce the theme/topic for the next month. We don't read a certain book, rather each individual chooses a book that fits the theme. That way, we each get introduced to a much larger collection of tomes. Anyone who enjoys reading business books is welcome to participate. There are no dues, just show up to the lunch and join the conversation. And if you miss the lunch you can still participate in the discussion online at our Facebook group.

LDS, Outside the box
This is a place where Latter Day Saint members and or former members can get together and talk about continuing to learn about truth and not just in the church. If you were to have told me almost six months ago that I would be: 1. Taking classes from an Inca Shaman 2. Talking to rocks and learning about crystal skulls, crystals, and Atlantis 3. Searching for a way out of the matrix, and finding out just how deep the rabbit hole goes. 4. Disregarding almost everything I have learned about religion 5. Meditating 6. Finding my animal guide 7. Becoming one with nature 8. Excepting myself as a being of light 9. Realizing that the greatest power comes from within 10. Buying a bamboo plant and going to a deeksha class 11. Learning the true nature of the universe 12. Learning the Mayan calendar 13. Learning what the Chakras are 14. Learning what a light warrior; crystal child, Channeler, and light healer really do 15. Lastly, beginning a Spiritual Journey as never before. I would have told you that you need to lay off the sauce (strong drink) and to get a real life. I have lead what I consider to be an ordinary life, no UFO/Alien experiences, no angel or spirit visitations, no signs from the heavens, no cataclysmic survival experiences, no out of body travels, and no earth shaking visions. That being said everything that I have experienced has come by reading; studying, praying, trying, attending applying, and knowing in my heart. Even before I heard about vibrating at higher frequencies to go to other dimensions of existence, I had already come to that conclusion. Before I read about Roswell New Mexico and Aliens I knew we were not alone in the universe. Even after I was schooled in the art of Religion, I knew that there was something more. As a child I hated school and I hated church and I was considered an unruly and hyper active kid (ADHD) I loved to be outdoors but hated being dirty. As I have grown up I have heard and seen so many things with advancements in technology, medicine, and ever changing religion that I have come to the conclusion that all I need to ask is one question. "For What Purpose" In other words," to what end"? How does having a knowledge that aliens exist or that Atlantis was a real city change my life? How does a rock or a tree or an animal affect what I am going to eat for dinner? How does knowing a date on a calendar prepare me for a life changing event, and my favorite, how do I know that when I die, I just don't cease to exist. I have spent money to have a physic tell me that changes are coming; I have spent a lot of hours reading and studying about holy men that lived thousands of years ago and how they knew more about Spirituality then we do today, I have spent a lot of time on my knees asking questions and hoping for answers that were just out of my reach. "For What Purpose" All my life people have taught me, told me, encouraged me, shown me, disciplined me, and forced me to accept that what I can see with my own eyes is real and everything else is just a belief. All my life I have been taught that you cannot survive without rules and regulations and restrictions that "teach us" how to be good people and how to have real "Freedom" All my life I have been taught that everyone is different and that the only things that we share is that we are the same species, I am to respect other peoples beliefs/Culture, but never to never ask why and to never let it affect my own. "For What Purpose" I ask you my friend's can you look me in the eye and tell me that I am wrong? Can you tell me that everything that I believe is false and that there is no destination to walk to? Can you tell me with all sincerity of your heart that there is no such thing as; hope, love, peace, kindness, joy, forgiveness, despair, hate, chaos, greed, fear, resentment, I not talking about God or Devil, I am talking about feelings. Can you say that nothing really matters; you have no control over your own destiny and that I have no meaning, no purpose, and no future beyond what I see in front of my eyes? "For What Purpose" The answer to the question is one you will have to answer on your own; all I can tell you is what I have learned in my short period of life and little knowledge of the universe. The Purpose of my existence is to: Love, Learn, Try, Experience, Grow, Nurture, Expand, Achieve, Believe, Understand, Enlighten, Envision, Trust, Completeness, Apply, Receive, Administer, Compel, Seek, Ask, Coexist, Aspire, Train, Invoke, Touch, Laugh, Communicate, Gain, Overcome, Release, Enjoy, Help, Assist, Teach, Ponder, Meditate, Increase, Remove, Respond, Reply, Welcome, Display, Embrace, Gift, Resolve, and Empower. Nothing that I mentioned had anything to do with negativity, control, or illusion yet they all can invoke a type of emotional response. In some way I hope that I have given you something that will help you on your "journey beyond belief" and that with that you will pass it on to others so that we may be all better because we have shared something. "Honesty" A JOURNEY BEYOND BELIEF!

Welcome, bunco-loving ladies! We are a fun bunco group and at this point we are only looking for reliable ladies who can commit to being "regulars" (attending games every month), so please consider this before joining. Bunco (or bunko) is a simple dice game - easy to learn and fun to play! Beginners and guests of members are welcome. We are different from the traditional bunco group: there is no hosting in your home and no arranging substitutes. We meet in a reserved private area at a public location (Elks Lodge of Murray UT) on the third Thursday of each month. We meet from 6:00-6:30 p.m. to socialize; the game begins at 6:30 p.m. and is usually completed between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. There are Points needed to play this game, of which rewards are given back to those who win the various categories of the game, i.e., Most Bunco's, Most Wins, 2nd Most Wins, 50/50, Most Losses, 2nd Most Losses. The points needed are 11 each month (Ten points are used for prizes and one point is used to keep Meetup site available to members). Each member has the responsibility to RSVP each month and then show up for the game! Failure to RSVP three consecutive times will be grounds for removal from this group. .

Dreamers - Lucid Dream Detectives of Utah 30+40+50+++
Welcome to 40+(just a suggestion...we won't check your ID!:) Dreamers - Lucid Dream Detectives of Utah Find yourself! Know thyself! Fulfill your daydreams by interpreting your sleeping dreams. A dream that is not interpreted is like a letter that has not been opened. Dreams are clues to the mystery within your inner universe. In this group, you will be able to explore your dreams and your unconscious life. Share, discuss, and evaluate your dreams in order to improve your depth awareness, growth and personal potential. Learn how to make your dreams a reality! To become a more regular lucid dreamer, it is necessary to focus on specific aspects of your dreams: learn these techniques in this group. Keep a dream record to discover your consistency patterns and other valuable insights. Paint, draw, script, or sculpt your dreams. At each DREAMERS MEETUP, whether while dining, at the library or park or ski resort, or in someone's home, we will write down our most interesting recent dream, without our name on it, and pass it around to other dreamers who take their turn at interpreting the dream. Dreams owners remain anonymous. In this way, each dreamer can benefit from others viewpoints without exposing the inner working of his/her mind. Follow the trail, jot down the evidence, plot the premise, and if you are brave, reveal your dream to the group, allowing others to ask questions and make suggestions. We will also practice the Freudian method of "free association", graphics, pictures and symbols to more fully grasp the relative nature of our dreams. We may include weekly dream webinars to help people in a more immediate way. Each active member will eventually become a dream diagnostician; able to help others decipher their inner worlds and ultimately become happier, better adjusted members of our human family. Please let the director know how you can help. Are you interested in becoming a co-coordinator? Can you offer your home for a MEETUP place? Have you had any "dream interpretation" training? Can you help promote this group by inviting your friends, co-workers, relatives, or neighbors? This group is not only about "ME", it is about "US" and how we can improve our own lives and the lives of those around us. Please help make this group a valuable resource for our community. Sustainable Community Building
There is a movement around the world that says we can have it all: beautiful places to live, sane places to work, and a fun community to interact with AND not ruin the earth in the process. This used to be the mantra of hippies or society drop-outs, but now it is hitting everyday people that there IS a better way to live. The purpose of our group is to educate ourselves and others on what it takes to build a sustainable community where we are now and in other areas AND ta-da to actually do it. We want to walk our talk. Even if you aren't interested in our particular intentional community, Safe Haven Village, this is a place to meet like-minded people, get ideas and have fun in the process.

The West Jordan Designing Divas Meetup Group
The intent in starting this group is to connect with a small group of people (3-5) in the West Jordan area who share common interests and enjoy similar activities who are also interested in supporting and helping each other reach goals or remove barriers. This group will have a lighter side where we will choose to just relax and have fun as well as a serious side where we'll facilitate, motivate, cheer for, celebrate and hold each other accountable for reaching goals (big or small, crazy or sane...there's no definition for a good goal). If you are a woman in the West Jordan area who is ready to have some fun while reaching your goals, come join us! Activities currently on my "fun to do" list include golf, snowshoeing, working out, reading, writing poetry, movies, and enjoying intellectually stimulating conversation over food and wine. I am always open to expanding my list of things I enjoy doing though so if you share some but not all of that list, don't be afraid to join. One of my current goals is to get more of my poetry published and I could use a group of friends to hold me accountable for taking steps in that direction. I thought we'd meet every other week to start. The first week to enjoy a fun activity and the second week to support each other in reaching our goals.

Armchair Quarterbacks
When you're new to town it's nearly impossible to find anyone to meetup and watch football with. I figure, there's got to be others out there like me that would love to meet up to watch games and talk trash. With the season now at it's end, at this point we are simply establishing our membership and deciding how the events will be planned and executed. I'm envisioning a list of Sports Bars that we rotate through and try out throughout the season meeting for various football games. Hopefully we find a place or two that wants our business enough to offer discounts or reserved seating. Obviously, we all can't make it to every game so I'm looking for others to help organize and host events. I'm thinking we could have football pools at each event to make it a little more interesting and I'm open to other ideas. The Meetup group does have a cost associated with it but it isn't much...perhaps we build the cost into a portion of the football pool to offset the costs and any profit at the end of the season is spent on a SUPER BOWL PARTY. So that's it...want to make some good friends and have people to watch football with? What are you waiting for?

No More Boring Married People!
I have created this group to meet other couples that enjoy going out a couple times a month to karaoke, drink, be silly, and have fun. once a month, sometimes more, we will do a group date. Sometimes it's dinner and a bar, sometimes its poker night and drinks, another example might be a dance clubbing, or a movie night. Members should be like minded as to what constitutes a good time. Here are a few basic requirements for being in this group: Must be 21 or older with a valid ID (for getting into bars), must like hanging out with new people and being social, must be ok with trying new things (ie: if you have never tried karaoke, but are ok with going to a karaoke bar, or don't usually like bored games but would give it a shot for the fun of it) People who do illegal drugs or abuse alcohol need not apply. You must be willing to leave your drama behind so you can cut loose and focus on having fun! We will have group dates all over the SLC Metro Area including but not limited to: West Valley City, Day Break, Draper, Millcreek, Downtown SLC and everywhere in between. You must be willing to have a designated driver or take a cab if you plan on drinking alcohol. We will have members from all over the valley so at some point we will be close to you and other times we won't. I am excited to meet new couples and have some fun, I hope you are too!

Fat Acceptance/Activism/HAES Group-Salt Lake Area
I decided to start this group because I'm tired of just making comments to myself or a couple close friends about how messed up the media/doctors/our culture is in regards to fat people. For those of you not familiar with the concept of accepting the word "fat" (I didn't come up with the idea on my own), let me just briefly explain: Fat and skinny are descriptive terms about people's body types. I am fat. It's what I am. "Fat" has a negative connotation in our society, but to me, it's not negative and I'm saying people who think it is are either the victims of fat prejudice and haven't gotten angry enough about it yet, or are the perpetrators of fat prejudice. It's what I choose to call myself as opposed to "Obese" and "Overweight"; two offensive terms that accept the proposition that being fat means you're diseased and different. I know there are many men and women in this very area that are struggling with the same things as me. I am outraged by how prevalent the stereotypes are about us fat people. I am afraid because I can see how ingrained these attitudes are, reaching the legislative system and the healthcare system. But most of all, I'm saddened on an ongoing basis at how difficult it is for me, as a fat person, to love myself. I struggle with this because of the way my fellow people treat me like an outsider just because they don't think I'm the right size and they have been doing so all of my life. The media exacerbates these false propositions: fat people aren't as good as other people because: They're unattractive, they're irresponsible parents, and they're indifferent to their own health. Commercials rarely have fat people in them in any positive fashion. TV programs rarely feature a fat star or co-star unless they're either A. A bitch or an asshole that stuffs his/her face all the time or B. A totally non-sexual, semi-intelligent, good-for-a-laugh jolly type. Doctors and government tell us we need to change our bodies to be happy and to be healthy. I don't want to scare you. We're not getting together to tear skinny people apart. But I know how hard it can be to love yourself when so many people are telling you to hate yourself. I have been there. I am there. For the last two years my New Years Resolutions have been only one thing: To Love and Accept Myself. All the other years of my life, save for when I was a very small child, my new years resolution has been to change myself to something "better", something that people will accept. It has been a learning and trying experience for me to confront all of my old beliefs. It has been an enlightening, a freeing, and a terrifying experience as I've embarked on my mission to examine the cultural attitudes toward us fat folks, and I really have just begun. The vast majority of WIDELY accepted opinions about fat people in general, repeated by your government officials, your doctors and your friends arise from ignorance. I want to meet other women and men who are fighting the battle to undo all the learning that's been beaten into us from family and friends and media. I want us to, together, remind ourselves that we can be just as beautiful, just as intelligent, just as loveable, just as sexual, just as capable, just as interesting, just as complex, and just as good as the next thin little thing. I don't really care what stage of the fat acceptance process for yourself you are in. I don't care if you just barely started to feel indignant or if you're downright enraged. I want you all. I'm looking to get together with a group, once or twice a month and share personal stories, inspiration, information, and support. The times and places will be determined once I've got enough members. We've gotten a good start so far, I hope we continue to grow. By the way, HAES stands for Healthy At Every Size, which proposes that we can live healthy lives and also be fat, challenging the pervasive belief that being fat and being healthy are opposites. Most of us have struggled with diet-addictions. It can be hard, especially in the beginning of this journey to completely let go of body-policing ourselves and others. But I want to make sure this group never turns into a weight loss tip sharing network. This is a fat-positive group. We aren't here to discuss changing our bodies. That goes against the whole idea. So, that is my only word of warning. If you can't refrain from conversations such as these, you will be asked to stop, and then to leave. I have a loving husband who supports me and adores me. I have the support of my family. But I need you, other fat people struggling like I am. I need you in my life. I want to help you love yourself, and I want your help too! Thank You!

This group is designed to discuss, share experiences and knowledge. it is a place where people can talk about Space exploration and UFOs(in literal terms) We all have different ideas and experiences when it comes to Unidentified Flying Objects, this does not take away from our religious beliefs but rather enhances our understanding of the universe and the way things work in a scientific and spiritual manner. Whether you believe they are government made machines or actual ET ships we still ask ourselves what is their purpose, where are they from, and how does it affect my world! Do not fear what you don't understand, knowledge is true power.

The Salt Lake "Take the Fear Out of Homebuying" Meetup Group
Hello my name is John Liley. I have been a Mortgage Professional since 1994. One of the things that I have seen in all this time is that folks just sometimes don't know how to buy a home. Let's face it usually you ask your parents or a friend and you are blindly referred to someone that is hopefully professional and can help you. I would say that it's going to be a 50/50 chance that everything goes smoothly. They teach us all kinds of things in school for our futures, right? Did they ever really teach us the steps to purchase a home? A home, I mean come on the biggest transaction in our life. This Meet-up Group will, with my expertise, and the skills of our guest Realtors and Title Companies educate and guide you through the process. Before you know it you'll be cutting your grass, planting vegetables in your garden and building snowmen in your yard with your kids. Take advantage of this free info now and make the change you've always wanted. Become a homeowner. There are programs available. There are houses to buy. We will take the fear out the process generated by the media. We are here to help. Come join us... Yours Truly, John Liley Senior Loan Consultant johnliley@gmail.com 8015410993

The Salt Lake City Classical & Flamenco Guitar Meetup Group
This meetup group is intended to provide a performance space for players, students, and aficionados of the classical or flamenco guitar. There are several fine Meetup Groups in the SLC area which are dedicated to the interests of singer-songwriters, bluegrass players, folk music, and beginning guitar students of all styles. Now there is a Meetup group specifically intended for intermediate and advanced classical and flamenco guitarists. Please note that "classical guitar" is NOT the same as "classic rock". "Classic Rock" is a great genre in and of itself, it's just not what this Meetup Group is all about. The instrument we play is the unamplified nylon-string guitar, Spanish or Brazilian or otherwise, and also the lute music from the Royal Courts of Europe written centuries ago. We are playing music written by composers such as Dowland, Bach, Sor, Giuliani, Albeniz, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Ponce, Barrios, Britten, as well as music by the modern-day composers who are active today. The performers we aspire to emulate include Montoya, Sabicas, Paco Peña, Paco de Lucia, Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, David Russell, Manuel Barreuco, etc. Group size will necessarily be limited, as we will probably be meeting in people's homes. We will also share information about related performances in the region. We can have community outreach opportunities as well, e.g. options to perform at retirement homes and senior centers.

Fibro Fighters
We would like to focus and combat the things that steal our lives away. Find the right exercise routines that will help us get out of the hurt and the day to day, why me? Also hand in hand we will work on the right food to eat so we don't have the triggers to make us feel awful. We need to work on the mind and the way that we can overcome this through our mind. The fourth part would obviously be the medicine part that we can all share what works since the thing that works the best is taboo in the minds who don't have fibro. I would like to start a monthly outing in addition to our meeting that will help us understand our bodies and the way we can help them physically. ie: hiking, waterfalls, slight jogging on the Jordan River trail. I want this to be a support group that we can lean on eachother and combat this disease that steals our live away.

Skiers & Scrapbookers
Do you scrapbook, make cards or craft? I've created this fun and casual group for anyone who would like to join and meet up for creative good times of scrapbooking & crafting (and of course girl fun!) Join this group if you are one of the imaginative & artistic women in the area who want to get together and share your crafty knowledge with other women! There is no limit to what you can create when we are inspired by others... We will meet in the Park City area at least once a month. Meetups for Skiers & Scrapbookers will start meeting at Michael's in Park City then expand into meeting at restaurants and other venues to crop and craft. The only thing that is better than crafting is crafting and enjoying your favorite coffee, appetizer and/or good glass of vino :) I'm open to member suggestions as I am new to Park City (from FL) and would love to try new places. The venues must have large tables and would give us a space for free. Travelling to scrapbook weekends & workshops & carpooling as a group to conventions is a blast as well! Come to as many events that we have as you like....remember....it's casual, comfy & creative! Join in on the fun! Check out my page on FB Skiers & Scrapbookers

Deeksha Oneness Blessing.
Our name embodies our passion for full spiritual awakening. One who authentically wants to become enlightened must be a warrior. We are not interested in a sanitized version of self-help or feeling better. We are not inspired by more, better, or different versions of duality. This simply leads to some version of living a life of quiet desperation. Our stand and our joy is for humans to become fully Awakened and God Realized like the Buddha or Christ with all the joy, bliss, power, and peace available in this permanent abiding state. What is deeksha? The Oneness Blessing (also known as Oneness Deeksha) is the direct transference of an intelligent sacred energy which causes the heart to flower and initiates a neurobiological change in the brain. This brings a shift in perception and the realization that the sense of a separate self is an illusion. This is not just another concept, but an experience of Oneness with all of Creation and with the Divine Presence. Oneness Blessing/Deeksha frees the senses from the constant chatter of the mind resulting in clarity of perception and spontaneous feelings of love, joy, peace, and inner silence. It dissolves negative life patterns, releases traumas stored at the cellular and energetic levels, and facilitates deep emotional and physical healing. Eventually the process brings a permanent end to personal suffering and Full Awakening to the very highest states of consciousness Oneness Blessing/Deeksha is dogma-free and does not belong to any particular religion, philosophy or belief-system. It helps each of us to discover and fully Experience the Reality of our own unique relationship with the Divine.

Golden Butterfly
This meetup group is for children who have lost a sibling and for parents who have lost a child and want to learn how to help their surviving children. Our mission is to provide resources to grieving siblings through support groups, education, research, writing and by raising pulic awareness of the profound impact of sibling loss. This support groups are a place where bereaved siblings can find validation for their feelings, share their stories and meet others like them. After the death of my 5 year old daughter, I looked for a place, any place, where my surviving children could go for support. Every place we tried was full and had a waiting list for at least a year. I was disappointed to realize that children with such urgent needs could not be helped. I hope this meetup provides all the encouragement, support and understanding that a grieving child requires. When you sign up please list the ages of the children coming to the group, so I can ensure they are in age appropriate groups. Thank you and welcome to the Golden Butterfly!
